An Open Letter

Dear Friends:

As always, I wish to express our sincere gratitude for your support which helps us to accomplish our programs.

Today, I wish to inform you that last year, Gloria Epiayu, an indigenous member of the Wayuu community, was awarded the Business Woman Award for the State of Magdalena. This year, that distinction went to Fundecoindigenas, which is the NGO that she heads. This is an accomplishment for both her foundation and for Fundehumac. Fundehumac is the “mother” of Fundecoindigenas.

This new enterprise should make Colombia Project very proud because they made this dream possible. This is the first micro enterprise Foundation to receive national recognition, and as such, it was invited to go to Bogotá to participate in the National Fair, free of charge. As requested by Fundecoindigenas, a representative of Fundehumac will accompany them to this event.

Thanks to Helene Dudley and the Colombia Project team for believing in us and for introducing us to the economic and financial world which today I understand better.

Best wishes,
Alba Lucía Varela Moreno
