New Addition to Peace Corps Archives
Gale Gibson
A six-part, 25-minute DVD slideshow documenting the experiences of the Colombia IV physical education/sports group was placed in the Colombia Peace Corps Archives at American University in Washington.
The DVD consists of 277 photos, slides, documents, newspaper clippings, and scenes illustrating training in El Paso and Puerto Rico; work in all of Colombia’s major cities; a special section on Bucaramanga; and a Then & Now segment showing photos of the volunteers during their 1962–64 terms of service with a note about where those people are and what they are doing today. Each show has a musical background to accompany the images and may be viewed on a computer or television equipped with a DVD player.
The DVD was made possible by Colombia IV members who shared their photos and slides with Jim (Col. IV) and Arlene Brown, residents of Atlanta who produced the show.
